Use Character Map to Create Special Characters in Text
Have you ever wondered how to type the copyright symbol (©) when it isn't on your keyboard? To type this and other characters that aren't on your keyboard you need to use the character map.
About Character Map
A string of characters to create a character that is not on your keyboard. For example to create the character © you hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and type 0169 into your number pad, then release the Alt key. You can also see all the characters available in character map (more about this option below).
Common Characters That Aren't On Your Keyboard
To create these characters, hold down the Alt key (usually located next to the space bar) then enter the numbers on your number pad on your keyboard (located on the far right side of your keyboard). For most computers, turn on your "Num Lock" light. If it doesn't work, try turning the "Num Lock" off.
