Telephone Directories to Find Phone Numbers

You are here:
Internet Family Fun Home > Sites for Kids and Families > Telephone Directories to Find Phone Numbers

Find addresses, phone numbers, and business listings without spending money on directory assistance. You can even do reverse searches where you enter the telephone number and get who it belongs to. Most directories get their sources of information from different sources so be sure to check several if you can't find the number on the first try.

Free 411
Have you ever been on the road with your cell phone or been away from the computer and needed to get a phone number? Without a computer handy to look it up for free you have to call directory assistance and they can charge sometimes $2 or more to get you the number. All you have to do is call 1-800-FREE411 (1-800-373-3411) to get the number. It isn't even a long distance call from anywhere in the U.S. All you are charges is your regular cell phone minutes. I know you are thinking there is a catch and there is but I think the small inconvenience is worth it. The catch to get a number for free is you may have to listen to a short commercial before they give you the number. I figure a few seconds of my time is worth $2. Their Web site address is easy to remember too: http://www.free411.com/ and you can look up numbers there also.

411
A great site to get telephone numbers and addresses. Includes White pages, Yellow pages, reverse phone, reverse address, area codes, and zip codes.

Switchboard
A great place to find a business, person, search by phone, plus get directions and maps. This site is easy to use and contains a lot of phone numbers that you can't get elsewhere.

Toll Free Directory
Don't call a business long distance until you make sure they don't have a toll free number. Includes a link for Spanish.

InfoSpace
Search world directories, email directories, yellow pages, white pages and even public records from InfoSpace. An added bonus is the "near an address" search which gives you telephone numbers of businesses near by which is great when looking for that shoe store (which you can't remember the name) on Elm.

Find Elected Officials
Are you trying to find out who your elected representatives are or how to contact him or her? Firstgov.gov is the place to start. You can even find out who represents you in the U.S. House of Representatives by typing in your zip code.

AnyWho from AT&T
Find businesses and people all over the world with AnyWho. Includes a toll free directory, area codes and maps. An added bonus is the reverse search function.

Google
You can search Google for businesses and residental telephone numbers just by entering the business name with city and state or zip code or the first last and city for residental. You can also enter a phone number into the Google search box and it will tell you who it belongs to. It's a great easy to use feature of Google.
