Top Spam Filters for Email

Here are some great spam filters that you can add to your email account that will stop spam dead in it's tracks.

1. Mail Washer

Mail Washer is a program that you download and use in conjunction with Outlook Express (or another email program). You check your email before checking it with your regular email program and Mail Washer will mark spam and you can delete it. What is really nice is that it doesn't download the emails to your computer so you can delete it before it reaches your computer. Once you delete the offending email, you then open your email program and collect your mail. It is free to try for 30 days.

2. MailMate

MailMate is available for a free 30 day trial and works seamlessly between your email program and the server. It quarantines buts does not automatically delete emails that it marks as spam so you can retrieve them if you want them. A nice feature is that customizable for personal preferences but it also works well without customizing it if you don't have time or energy to do that.

3. Spam Bully

Spam Bully is offered for a free 2 week trial period. It works in conjunction with Outlook Express and Outlook. It has the option of bouncing email back to known spammers so it appears to them that the email address is bad. Spam Bully is customizable.

4. SpamXpress

This works strictly with Outlook Express with pop3 email accounts (it doesn't work when using Outlook Express with other email address like Hotmail). It installs filters within Outlook Express and you can customize them.
