When you get off-line around the holidays, these are the must-have Christmas movies for your family's video collection. These Christmas movies and television shows are classics and they should be seen by future generations so you can share your childhood memories with your children.

1) The Santa Clause
One of my family's favorite because it is so funny. Tim Allen is great in this Walt Disney picture.
2) Home AloneNow a Christmas classic (as far as my family is concerned). This movie is about an adventurous boy and his antics when he is mistaken left home alone at Christmas time. |
3) A Christmas Story
It's not Christmas time officially until you hear Raphie's mom say, "You'll shoot your eye out". This is a must-have dvd for your family's video collection. |
4) A Christmas Carol
A timeless classic story that is a must-have for your video collection. You usually can catch this on television but it is important to have ready to watch when you have time with the kids because it teaches such important lessons. |
5) Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The 1966 original of the classic on DVD. If you liked it when you were a kid, your kids should see it too. |
6) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
One of the ultimate classics of Christmas time. It isn't officially Christmas until you hear Burl Ives singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and see the abominable snowman put the star on the tree. |
7) Santa Claus is Coming to Town - The Little Drummer Boy Double FeatureThis one is one I remember from when I was little. Unfortunately I haven't seen this on TV so my little one's have missed out. It is a wonderfully done story about Kris Kringle (Mickey Rooney) of Sombertown and the gift factory that he starts. This double feature also has The Little Drummer Boy. |
8) It's a Wonderful Life
The classic usually seen on tv. Watch it anytime by getting a copy for your family. |
9) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
In my house, this is a must-see before decorating the outside of house every year. Although it is silly and hysterical, many of the Clark's dilemmas are so typical of many families. This is rated PG-13 so it may not be appropriate for all family members. |
10) Miracle on 34th Street
You can usually catch this Christmas classic on tv but just in case, it should be in your family's Christmas video collection. |
